Ingredients, Safety & How to Use

INSIDE THE APLANTHECARY FORMULA

Five botanical butters. Six specialty oils. Thoughtful body care.

Rich moisture is at the heart of AplantheCary. Our selected relaunch formula pairs botanical butters and specialty oils with ingredients chosen to support hydration, texture, and a comfortable finish. The goal: body care for dry, rough-feeling skin that feels as good as it performs.

Handcrafted in small batches in Vancouver, Washington. Inspired by the Pacific Northwest and developed around our promise of deep moisture with a silky, non-greasy feel.

This guide explains the roles of ingredients in our selected development formula. It is not the final INCI label or proof of finished-product performance. Supplier documentation, animal-free sourcing, and finished-product testing remain pending.

The foundation: five botanical butters

Butters provide the emollient foundation: ingredients that soften skin and contribute richness. We combine different butters to develop the body and spread of the cream. Select an ingredient below to learn more.

Bacuri butter — Rich emollient care

A botanical butter selected to help soften dry-feeling skin and bring richness to the blend. Its natural brown color and earthy aroma can influence the finished butter.

Kpangnan butter — Cushion and body

An unrefined botanical butter chosen for a cushioned application. Alongside the other butters, it contributes substance to the cream.

Tucuma butter — Slip and spread

Selected as an emollient part of the butter blend, helping create a smooth, spreadable application.

Murumuru butter — Creamy softness

A botanical emollient chosen to complement the rich butter base and help leave skin feeling soft.

Kokum butter — Structure and richness

A firmer botanical butter selected to give the blend body while contributing emollient care.

The finishing layer: six specialty oils

Our oils complement the butter base with emollient care and help shape how the formula spreads and feels. Each belongs to the same moisture-first approach.

Baobab oil — Softening care

A seed oil that contributes emollience, helping soften skin and smooth the feel of application.

Ximenia seed oil — Rich conditioning

A specialty seed oil chosen for its rich emollient character and contribution to a comfortable skin feel.

Açaí fruit oil — Botanical conditioning

A fruit oil included as part of the skin-conditioning oil blend. It contributes emollient care without adding a separate fragrance.

Pracaxi oil — Cushion and glide

A botanical seed oil chosen to contribute slip and richness to the blend of butters and oils.

Pequi fruit oil — A distinctive botanical accent

Included in a small amount as an emollient accent. Its natural color and aroma may contribute to the character of the formula.

Buriti fruit oil — A touch of botanical color

A naturally colored fruit oil used in a small amount within the emollient blend. Color can vary with botanical raw materials.

The serum blend in our updated development formula

Our updated development formula includes a serum blend containing niacinamide, kojic acid, and sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid). Supplier documentation, compatibility review, and finished-product testing remain pending.

The selected serum is the source of these three ingredients in our development formula. No separate collagen or collagen-like protein is included in this revision.

Niacinamide — Included through the serum blend

A vitamin B3 ingredient included through the selected serum. Its contribution and performance in the finished body butter remain subject to formula review and testing.

Kojic acid — Part of the selected serum

Included through the selected serum blend. We are reviewing its compatibility and suitability within the complete body moisturizer; ingredient presence alone does not establish brightening or treatment results.

Sodium hyaluronate — The hyaluronic acid ingredient

A humectant included through the serum blend. Humectants attract water; finished-product hydration and skin feel still need evaluation.

Other serum components — Understanding the complete blend

The supplier’s published serum ingredient list includes water, glycerin, niacinamide, panthenol, kojic acid, sodium hyaluronate, phenoxyethanol, aloe leaf extract, cucumber fruit extract, papaya fruit extract, rice extract, tetrasodium glutamate diacetate, citric acid, and ethylhexylglycerin.

This describes the purchased serum, not the final ordered ingredient declaration for the body butter. Exact supplied composition and the complete formula remain under review.

Development status: We are retaining the botanical butter-and-oil foundation while evaluating this serum addition. Its presence does not establish the safety, preservation, stability, or performance of the finished moisturizer. Final ingredient declarations will be published before fulfillment.

The ingredients that bring it together

A water-containing body butter needs more than butters and oils. Humectants, an emulsifier, texture ingredients, an antioxidant, and a preservative each have a different job.

Water — The water phase

Distilled or deionized water forms the water phase of this emulsified body butter and carries water-soluble ingredients.

Vegetable glycerin — Moisture attraction

A plant-derived humectant: an ingredient that attracts water and supports a moisturized skin feel.

Xanthan gum — Texture support

A thickener selected to give the water phase structure and help support an even emulsion.

Montanov 68 MB — Bringing water and oils together

An emulsifier made with cetearyl alcohol and cetearyl glucoside. It helps combine the water and oil phases into a cream. Its fatty alcohol also contributes body to the texture.

Mixed tocopherols — Helping protect the oils

An antioxidant included to help slow oxidation of the oils in the formula. The selected mixed tocopherols T50 also contains soybean oil. It does not replace a preservative.

Silica microspheres — A softer dry-touch feel

Fine mineral particles selected to modify slip and reduce the perception of surface oiliness. Their effect on the finished formula is being evaluated.

Arrowroot powder — Finish refinement

A botanical powder selected to help adjust shine and the feel of the rich oil-and-butter blend. The precise botanical identity will appear in the verified final ingredient declaration.

Geogard ECT — Preservation support

A preservative blend containing benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid, glycerin, and sorbic acid, selected to protect against microbial growth. The serum blend also contributes preservation ingredients. The complete preservation system needs review and finished-product testing.

One botanical foundation. Your fragrance preference.

La Peau Nue — No added fragrance

Our selected fragrance-free version contains no added fragrance or essential oils. Botanical and other raw materials can still have an aroma. Fragrance-free does not mean allergy-free.

Nuance, Vanilla Dusk, and 11 AM — Added fragrance

Fragrance adds the scent experience; it is not the source of moisture performance. Nuance uses Vinevida No. 3108; Vanilla Dusk’s selected development blend pairs vanilla with a bourbon accent; 11 AM features white tea and sage. Fragrance oils are not described as entirely plant-derived.

What we mean by plant-derived

Our botanical story comes from the plant-derived butters and oils in the selected formula. The complete body butter also includes water, mineral silica, and functional ingredients. We do not describe it as 100% plant-derived. Vegan means no animal-derived ingredients; whole-formula sourcing confirmation is still pending.

Selected formula, transparent progress

We have selected this development formula for the December 2026 relaunch. The final full ingredient declarations will be published before fulfillment, after supplier composition and identity checks and formula review. Stability, packaging compatibility, preservation, and finished skin feel still need evaluation before production.

The earlier silk-containing ingredient list does not represent this formula. The updated development formula includes the selected niacinamide, kojic acid, and hyaluronic acid serum blend. No separate collagen or collagen-like protein is included. Supplier composition, compatibility, and finished-product checks remain pending. Ingredient roles described here do not establish treatment benefits or results for the finished body butter.

If you have an allergy or need to avoid an ingredient, wait for the final full list and email Vintagebodybutter@aplanthecary.store before ordering.
